2007 - San Diego to Saint Augustine

About the Trip

People think I'm crazy. My parents don't think I should go alone. In fact people that I'd just met in quilt shops don't think I should go alone.

"Why don't you have a companion?" they ask.

I try to tell them it's just fifty miles a day for 63 days on my beautiful Terry Madeline. Besides I have about 90 days to do the 63 days from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL. I understand there may be delays due to natural and unnatural disasters.

And I'll have mace, a cellphone, and a tiny noisemaker that screaches at 95 decibles.

But they don't usually listen.
